One of the most rewarding careers is that of a physical therapist, who helps ill or injured patients improve their mobility and manage their pain. Physical therapists also play a critical role in rehabilitating and treating patients with chronic conditions or injuries.
Bachelor of Science in Biology majors with a Pre-Physical Therapy concentration work closely with their advisor during their undergraduate studies.
Upon graduation, students must gain entrance into a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. Most programs require applicants to apply through the Physical Therapist Centralized Application Service.
All states require licensed physical therapists, and licensing requirements vary by state. Many physical therapists choose to become board-certified specialists in either orthopedics or geriatric physical therapy.
