Bachelor of Science

Bachelor of Arts

A Bachelor of Science or Arts in Biology is perfect for those interested in preparing for medical or dental school, veterinary medicine, or graduate studies in various biological sciences. Biological scientists study living organisms and their relationships with the environment.

Many Bachelor of Science in Biology graduates successfully enter master鈥檚 and doctoral-level programs. Biology majors can choose a health science concentration or pre-professional pathway as part of their studies. Pathways include pre-dental, pre-medicine, pre-occupational therapy, pre-physical therapy, pre-physician assistant, or pre-veterinary science.

Biology majors can also opt to minor in chemistry or exercise science. The health science courses promote health, wellness, physical fitness, and the complete integration of body, mind, and spirit.

Transfer Students

Community college students who wish to transfer to 天美传媒 can follow the Biology Transfer Pathway approved by the statewide Ohio Guaranteed Transfer Pathway (OGTP) and transfer seamlessly to 天美传媒. When you complete an associate鈥檚 degree that includes the biology transfer pathway, you will transfer as a college junior to 天美传媒, with introductory major courses and most general education courses complete, bringing maximum credit from your associate degree. You will be right on track to complete your bachelor鈥檚 degree in biology in as little as four semesters.

OHIO CONSORTIUM FOR TRANSFER PATHWAYS TO THE LIBERAL ARTS

天美传媒 is a member of the聽聽and offers a clear, consistent pathway in biology for community college students transferring to 天美传媒.

天美传媒 worked with the following community colleges to approve the transfer pathway in biology:

  • Central Ohio Technical College
  • Clark State College
  • Columbus State Community College
  • Cuyahoga Community College

Early Acceptance Program

Lourdes biology majors can apply for the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) Early Acceptance Program (EAP) in three graduate tracks: Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy.
The LECOM College of Osteopathic Medicine School of Pharmacy and School of Dental Medicine offer an EAP that allows qualified Lourdes students to hold a provisional reserved seat at one of LECOM鈥檚 professional schools upon successful completion of an interview. Students can then pursue successful completion of their required undergraduate coursework at 天美传媒.
