Derick began his career in social media and marketing in 2023 as a Marketing Intern with Stronger. Longer. Better., a local wellness brand based in Sylvania. He later interned with Premiere Counseling Services in Perrysburg, Ohio, where he expanded his expertise in digital outreach, community engagement, and brand promotion. These hands-on experiences prepared him to take on a leadership role back at Lourdes as the Assistant Coordinator for the Like Me Program, where he now leads initiatives in outreach, recruitment, and social media strategy.

In his role, Derick collaborates with K鈥�12 schools, supports student recruitment, develops engaging digital content, and helps champion a supportive community for first-generation college students and future educators. His diverse background in marketing, communications, and partnership-building has made him an asset to the Like Me Program鈥檚 mission.

Outside of his professional work, Derick enjoys spending time with his dog, Finnagin, going on walks, and being active through working out and fishing with friends. He is proud to be giving back to the university that shaped his academic and professional path.
